Xavier Bontemps was born in 1979. A piano-player from childhood, he became a piano-tuner at 18, while continuing his training as a maker of fine instruments. Hen then spent 10 years working in various firms, building a solid foundation of professional experience, while continuing regular tuition in tuning and harmonization, thereby honing his skills and consolidating his mastery of fine workmanship. He had the good fortune to be called on to prepare pianos for concerts and recordings by great artists such as Christian Zacharias, Nelson Freire, François-René Duchable, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Brigitte Engerer and many others.

As an ardent lover of music and the piano, I naturally want to carry out fine restorations, putting all my know-how into seeking the highest musical and aesthetic perfection for your piano.
Housed in a former wine warehouse in the heart of the wine-producing countryside, my workshop is fitted out with all the equipment needed to restore your instruments to tip-top condition. The calm environment affords serene working conditions and space for instruments to be kept and checked during their stabilization period. During this period they are played almost daily so as to enhance their tonal personality.
